Dental Implants

Are you ready to enjoy the foods you once loved without discomfort or pain?

Dental implants are devices that dentists implant into the jawbone to support dental prosthetics like crowns or bridges. Manufacturers design these implants to last a lifetime, so patients only need the implantation procedure once.

As the jawbone heals, it fuses with the implants. Once the jawbone and implants bond together, dentists attach a dental crown to the implant, creating a natural-looking and fully functioning smile.

Many patients and even dentists prefer implants because the implants prevent jawbone atrophy, and they offer the same function as natural teeth. Dentists can use dental implants to replace single or multiple missing teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are dental implants right for me?

You may qualify for dental implants if you have missing, broken, or severely decayed teeth and are in relatively good overall health. To identify whether you have adequate bone support and healthy gums that will support the new implanted structure, you need to consult with Dr. Zeitlin.

What should I expect if my dentist and I decide dental implants are right for me?

The process of getting complete dental implants involves several steps over a 6-9 month timeline. It begins with the implant placement procedure, where the dentist places a small titanium rod into the same spot where a tooth once was. This rod acts as a replacement tooth root. Once the dentist places the rod, they will suture the open gum over the implant to allow your mouth to heal and the implant to fuse to the surrounding bone.

Once the healing period complete, you will then visit the dentist to get fitted for permanent dental crowns. The dentist will then place those crowns on top of your implants.

What type of post-treatment care will I require?

Dr. Zeitlin uses wholistic products such as StellaLife and DentaMedica to ensure a better, faster, less painful recovery for our patients. However, patients may experience some discomfort, including bruising and swelling following a dental implant procedure. Patients can manage inflammation and pain with over-the-counter medications or hydrocodone. Dr. Zeitlin may also ask patients to eat only soft foods until the surgical site heals.
