Dental Implants

Are you ready to enjoy the foods you once loved without discomfort or pain?

Dental implants are devices implanted into the jaw bone to support dental prosthetics like crowns or bridges. These implants are manufactured to last a lifetime, so the implantation procedure is only necessary once.

As the implants heal, they will fuse with your jawbone. Once bonded together, a dental crown is attached to the implant for a natural-looking and fully functioning smile.

Many patients and even dentists prefer implants because of the additional benefit of the implants preventing jaw bone atrophy, and because they offer the same function as natural teeth do. Dental implants can be used to replace single or multiple missing teeth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are dental implants right for me?

You may qualify for dental implants if you have missing, broken, or severely decayed teeth and are in relatively good overall health. The only way of determining your eligibility for implants is to consult with Dr. Zeitlin to identify whether you have adequate bone support and healthy gums that will support the new implanted structure.

What should I expect if my dentist and I decide dental implants are right for me?

The process of getting complete dental implants takes several steps over a 6-9 month timeline to complete. It begins with the implant placement procedure where a small titanium rod is placed into the same spot where a tooth once was, the rod acts as a replacement tooth root. Once placed, sutures are placed over the implant to close the open gum, where it will stay while your mouth heals and your implant fuses to the surrounding bone. Once the healing period has completed, you will then be fitted for permanent dental crowns and have those placed on top of your implants.

What type of post-treatment care will I require?

Dr. Zeitlin uses wholistic products such as StellaLife and DentaMedica to ensure a better, faster, less painful recovery for our patients. However, It is normal to experience some discomfort, including bruising and swelling following a dental implant procedure. Inflammation and pain may be managed with over-the-counter medications or hydrocodone. You may also be asked to eat only soft foods until the surgical site heals.
