LANAP™ Laser Gum Therapy

LANAP™ Laser Gum Therapy

The only FDA approved laser gum treatment that is proven to regenerate bone and gum tissue that has been lost/damaged due to gum disease without the need for cut and stitch gum surgery. The LANAP technique is the most effective way to eliminate the ineffective bacteria causing the damage to the gums and bone that hold the teeth in place and allows for the regrowth of damaged tissue with minimal discomfort. Patients who have had traditional cut and stitch gum surgery typically require extensive prescription pain medications and time off from work to manage afterwards, while patients after LANAP treatment typically require over the counter medications (if any) to manage discomfort and often can go back to work the next day!

Also, while most gum surgery is often only recommended as a second phase of therapy after traditional scaling/root planing (a technique meant to try to reduce the bacterial load prior to efforts to regenerate lost bone and gum tissue), LANAP is a single treatment best suited for the elimination of bacterial load and the regrowth of damaged tissues in one step! LANAP also helps you to avoid the negative outcomes of root exposure due to gum recession associated with traditional treatment of early to moderate gum disease. After scaling and root planning the gums shrink down exposing roots. Teeth with exposed roots are over 200% more likely to get decay, trap food and need to be pulled during the patient’s lifetime.

LANAP means fewer visits and less discomfort in order to get your gums healthy and improve your ability to keep your teeth for the rest of your life rather than slowly lose them to gum disease!

LANAP is the most effective treatment for all stages of gum disease once the bone that holds your teeth in place has been damaged.

The use of LANAP has enabled us to save many people’s teeth where in the past, the traditional techniques to try to manage gum disease would have led to those teeth being pulled! The same holds true for implants that have become infected with gum disease! Very often using LAPIP (a version of LANAP shown to work around Implants) we can save a failing implant rather than go through the very costly process of removing an implant and hoping it can be replaced!

If you have been told that you can’t stop the effects of your gum disease and should have all of your teeth pulled, or have a dental implant that is infected and should be pulled please call us for a second opinion!
